Altar Guild members serve as God’s stewards by preparing the Lord’s Table. This lay ministry is a vital offering of time and talent which makes possible the worship of St. Paul’s and it is hoped provide inspiration and fellowship to those who serve in this capacity.
The Altar Guild is established to serve the altars of the Church; we serve at the invitation and direction of the Rector of St. Paul’s. We prepare the altar for worship. The objectives of the Altar Guild are many, but can be summed up in the following two themes: (1) that our service may be one of love to our Lord Jesus Christ, and (2) that everything used in the service of the Church must be clean and in good repair.
The Altar Guild sets up and cleans up the church and chapel not only for regular Sunday services but also for all special and seasonal services, including Lent, Easter Season, Pentecost, the Transfiguration, the Feast of All Saints, Thanksgiving, Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, and weddings, funerals and memorials.
