Paul and James: Two Perspectives, One Gospel
James was Jesus’ brother, who picked up where Jesus left off in Jerusalem.
Paul was once Saul, a Pharisee who persecuted Jesus’ followers,
and then came around to Jesus’ message after Jesus’ time on earth.
One was committed to maintaining of the covenant of Torah by Jews and non-Jewish converts.
The other to covenants existing side by side.
Both were committed Jews to their deaths.
Join us starting Wednesday Oct. 3rd from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. for an 8 week exploration of the earliest leaders of the Jesus Movement through the lens of Paul’s Epistle to the Galatians, and James’ Epistle. Rediscover the diversity of thought in the earliest days of our tradition. We’ll explore how we learn from these guys about how to live, united in diversity, in our time and place. Potluck dinner, and Childcare is provided.
