Music / Choir

Music plays an important role in our worship at St. Paul’s.

Choirs

St. Paul’s Parish Choir is the backbone of the music program, singing weekly at the 9:30 a.m. service September through mid-June. The choir welcomes anyone who enjoys singing (music reading not required) and can regularly attend Thursday evening 7:30 rehearsals and Sunday morning services. Highlights of the year include a service of Advent Lessons and Carols on the Sunday before Christmas, and other Feast Day celebrations. The choir sings a broad range of choral literature, from chant to gospel, including Dwight Stone’s arrangements, occasionally with brass, with the Spirit Band, and other accompaniment.

Choir

During the school year Sept.-June we have regular Choir rehearsals from 7:30-9 on Thursday evenings. We have room for people of all ages, and instrumentalists as well. If you play an instrument, you might like to join our « Spirit Band », or perhaps St. Paul’s Brass Ensemble. Voice lessons are also available for Choir members, offered by our sublime soprano Marina Tolstova.
Our first fall rehearsal this year is Thursday, Sept. 7th at 7:30 pm.
We welcome anyone who would like to join us in making a “joyful noise.”

Children’s Choir

The Children’s Choir has been on hiatus, and we look forward to your inquiries to start it up again. All children of elementary and middle school age are welcome to join us in song. Please let Dwight Stone or Deborah Webster know of your interest! (contact info below)

Instrumental Music

Instrumentalists also help out on special occasions during the year. If you play an instrument and would like to help “make a joyful noise unto the Lord” please contact the music director and let him know of your willingness. We have a fine St. Paul’s Festival Brass Ensemble with trumpets, French horns, and a euphonium.

Please contact Music Director Dwight Stone or Deborah Webster if you are interested in participating in our music programs!
