This year’s Confirmation class is starting up Sunday Dec. 3rd from 11am-12:30pm in the Meeting Room in the Office Wing of the church. Rev. Jeff Dodge, our Associate Rector, will be facilitating the class. This is open to all ages, so if you’re a teen or octogenarian, you’re invited! This class will culminate in the Confirmation ceremony at Grace Cathedral June 2nd, 2018.
What is Confirmation?
Confirmation is a sacrament of chosen membership. If you’ve been sprinkled or dunked as a baby, this is your chance to say for yourself that this is what you want to be part of. If you are wanting to join the Episcopal Church from another denomination, this is your chance to get to know the basic ins and outs of our beloved community before taking the plunge into full membership.
Why do we need to attend a class for Confirmation?
You want to make sure you know what you’re getting into, or what your parents signed you up for at your baptism. This class is a way to get familiar with our Stories, our Practices, and our History, exploring how to be in relationship to God and each other in God’s Beloved Community in the Episcopal Church. There’s a lot of good stuff that many people don’t know about us, and this is a perfect way to know what that is, and find ways to share that with others. Best of all, it’s a chance to ask all the questions you might have that you haven’t had a chance to ask.
