Dear People of St. Paul’s~
Hello from your friendly Seminarian Intern, here with an update on our Coffee Hour re-start.
Coffee Hour is sometimes playfully called the third sacrament. Given that we understand sacraments as the outward and visible signs of God’s inner grace, I can see where that comes from. While coffee hour can be a time of connection, joy, and welcome here at St. Paul’s, it can also be a time of great anxiety for some, myself included. Finding different ways to engage with each other, those who are joining us for the first time, and building community is one of the benefits of this vital ministry.
Beginning Sunday, March 6, I invite you to join me for some exciting updates to how we re-engage in Coffee Hour. First, in the Parish Hall you will notice a fantastic new display created by our dedicated History Committee, Jessica Beerbaum, Mike Siebert, and Marion Perry. This display will change on a rotating basis, so be sure to check it out each week.
Next, you will see a whiteboard or other posted sign with our question of the week. We encourage you to share your response to the question on the whiteboard or posted sign, and share it with your coffee partners as well when you return to your table. The hope is to spark conversation and create new connections. Don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions, feedback, or ideas for questions you’d like to see posted for the week. You can reach me at [email protected].
Until then, I look forward to seeing you at our “third sacrament,” Coffee Hour!
Blessings, Jen Crompton
