Stewardship

Christian Stewardship is grateful and responsible use of God’s gifts in light of God’s purpose as revealed in Jesus Christ. It is:

  • living and telling the Good News
  • sharing with God in seeking justice, peace, and the integrity of creation in an interdependent universe
  • wisely employing God-given human resources, abilities, and relationships
  • sharing the material resources we hold and giving them in service, justice, and compassion
  • providing for future generations
  • sharing in the life, worship, and responsible stewardship of the Church and of its mission

We are children of God, disciples of Jesus Christ who feel called to a ministry of transformation through stewardship. We are sojourners who, along with many others, have some sense that it is through an understanding of holistic stewardship and a practice of gratitude and generosity that we will grow spiritually, more and more into the likeness of the loving, generous God in whose image we are created. We believe that it is by virtue of our baptism that we are called to this ministry of stewardship.

Pledging

The Pledge is one form of stewardship. It’s an annual commitment to give a designated amount of money to the church over the course of a year. It’s a special opportunity for you to bring your heart, mind, and spirit of generosity to move our ministry forward and continue to lead in the Bay Area. Participate in the annual Pledge Campaign in the fall of each year. Thank you in advance for your continued partnership!

Gifts & Memorials

There are many compelling reasons that inspire parishioners, families, and friends to make gifts to St. Paul’s. Sometimes these gifts are in memory of a loved one. Perhaps it’s a gift to support a particular need, to honor an individual, or to celebrate a special occasion. Your gift can be designated to one of our active funds or can be undesignated, which means it’s added to help fund special projects at St. Paul’s that are outside our operating budget. In the past, these projects have included upgrading our facilities, improving our landscaping, and providing seed money for new children’s programs.

Your gifts are appreciated! If you have questions about how you can help support St. Paul’s, please contact the Parish Office at (925) 934-2324.

Planned Giving

Remember the church in your will

Legacy or planned giving is an integral part of Christian stewardship. Remembering the church in your will or trust is the most common way to leave a personal and meaningful legacy gift to the church. The Planned Giving Officer’s ministry is to assist you in exploring which options may work best for you. To learn more, contact the planned giving officer at (925) 934-2324 or visit episcopalgift.org.

Online Books

St. Paul’s offers used books for sale, using donations made in conjunction with our fall and spring rummage sale (canceled this year due to COVID-19).  More than 4,000 books are currently located in the portable book cart and more than 3,000 additional books are for sale online through Alibris.com and Ebay.com.  Our online books are normally available for pickup at St Paul’s Church with no shipping charge if requested separately from the online store; however, the office is currently closed due to COVID-19 so we are only shipping.  For more information or pickup requests, contact David Mattern at (925) 934-2324

All net proceeds help support local, regional, and international outreach programs at St. Paul’s, and 7% of your purchase anywhere on Alibris.com (even if not at St Paul’s) will be directed toward our outreach programs. If you don’t see the book, CD or DVD you want, start your search in our Alibris Online Bookstore.
