“Music is the Language of Angels.”
St. Paul’s honors the importance of music as an integral component of our worship experience. The scripture readings and lesson themes are integrated into the music presentation for our services to allow the message to be experienced on many levels beyond the direct intellect. Additional to hymns sung by the congregation, we also have featured music presented which allows the congregation to just listen and absorb the language of the soul.
- At our 9:30am Sunday services, music styles are selected according to the best match for the lessons being presented at each service, and range from classical to folk, with an occasional touch of jazz and rock!
- At our 7:30am Sunday services in the Chapel, we stick to traditional sacred music and hymns.
- In our Joyful Noise services at 8:45am, we include folk music and encourage our little ones to join in with voice and various percussion instruments.
The Music Ministry at St. Paul’s is blessed to have talented musicians making up our various ensembles including our regularly-featured Choir, our Brass Ensemble and Handbell Choir for special services. We also feature numerous vocal and instrumental soloists throughout the year and prepare extra-special musical presentations during the Advent/Christmas and Easter seasons. During the summer, all are invited to “drop in” for the 9:30am morning services to try out a chair in the choir! Please note, ALL ARE WELCOME to join our music ministry all year long, whether you are a trained virtuoso or a novice wanting to praise the Lord. We have a way for you to contribute to the musical worship.
Both our church and chapel worship sanctuaries house pipe organs, which are used extensively. We are also blessed to have a 9-ft Baldwin concert grand piano in our church, which used during worship and is a featured instrument in our Concert Series.
If you are interested in joining the choir or sharing your talents in one of our instrumental groups, learn more at Our Ministries. Please visit our channel for videos of our music ministry.
