St. Paul’s is an open and affirming Christian church community
We welcome all who seek a place at God’s table. We are a faith community who asks not for blind faith, not for unthinking obedience, but for thoughtful, responsible commitment to a life of love. We find unity in shared practice, not in forced agreement. We don’t have all the answers and we welcome questions. We are a place of love and hope, not fear and condemnation. In the tradition of Jesus, faith is a journey, not an event or activity; a way of being, not merely a belief statement.
We believe that God loves you – no exceptions
We believe in following the teachings of Jesus Christ, whose life, death, and resurrection saved the world. As Episcopalians, we believe in a loving, liberating, and life-giving God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We have a legacy of inclusion, aspiring to tell and exemplify God’s love for every human being; women and men serve as bishops, priests, and deacons in our church. Laypeople and clergy cooperate as leaders at all levels of our church.
2021 The 172nd Diocesan Convention, a Summary.
St Paul’s runs many efforts to help the world and spread the word of Christ. Each year our Episcopal Diocese in the San Francisco Bay area convenes a convention to promote its ideas and causes. There are over 70 churches in our Diocese. Some ideas are made into motions that are then carried to our National convention. Some are acted on immediately. In addition to this there are many other efforts as can be seen by the “OUR MINISTRIES” and “SERVING OUR COMMUNITIES” tabs on our home page.
This Summary of the 2021 Convention is one example of what we believe and try to do.
