Leadership is a gift from God that is expressed by all members of our church. At every level, laypeople and clergy serve as leaders of St. Paul’s.
Staff

Rector
The Reverend Krista Fregoso
The Rev. Krista Fregoso grew up in North Carolina and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a double degree in Biology and in Elementary Education. Upon graduation, Krista went on to serve in the Peace Corps in Bulgaria. After 9/11, she began to discern a call to the Priesthood. She attended seminary at the Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley where she met her husband, Tom Fregoso. Her first call as an Associate for Family Ministries was at St. Francis, Palos Verdes in the Diocese of Los Angeles. She also worked as Chaplain for U.C. Riverside. She moved back to the Bay Area in 2011 to become the Associate Rector at St. Johns Oakland. In August 2018 she was called to be the eighth Rector of St. Paul’s Walnut Creek.

Associate Rector
The Reverend Lynne Sharp, TSSF
The Rev. Lynne Sharp, TSSF (Third Order, Society of St. Francis) is a native of Rochester, NY but with strong ties to the Bay Area. A graduate of the Church Divinity School of the Pacific in 2008, Lynne served as an Associate at St. Aidan’s, San Francisco, Grace Cathedral, and St. Paul’s in Burlingame before returning to New York and serving as Rector at St. James in Hammondsport for seven years. Rev. Lynne brings a wealth of experience and a treasure trove of knowledge that will serve our parish well and help bring us to new heights.

Communications
Eileen Mitchell
Eileen’s experience includes more than 14 years as a marketing communications manager for a local nonprofit. At St. Paul’s, she oversees all marketing communications in addition to cultivating partner relationships and working with our terrific team of volunteers. In her spare time, Eileen is a freelance writer and volunteers with a local greyhound rescue group.

Director of Music
Eric Newell
Eric is the Director of Choral Studies at the Kirby School, teaching music to grades 6-12. Before teaching, he directed music at Commerce Presbyterian Church in Commerce, GA, always having a passion and deep love for liturgical music. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in business administration from Emory University, and a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from the University of Georgia. In his free time, Eric enjoys cooking and playing tennis.

The Reverend Donald Adolphson
A graduate of Diocese of CA School For Deacons and retired from Sandia Laboratory. Joined St. Paul’s after ten years at St. Matthias, San Ramon.

Deacon Emeritus
The Reverend Margaretmary Staller
Ordained Deacon and hospice chaplain. Retired from St. Paul’s in 2021.
Vestry
The elected Vestry serves as the governing board for the parish, with the rector as president. The basic responsibilities of the vestry are to help define and articulate the mission of the congregation; to support the church’s mission by word and deed; to select the rector; to ensure effective organization and planning; and to manage resources and finances.
