January 7, 2022 Dear People of St. Paul’s, This is the message I didn’t want to write. I’m sure you’ve heard the news: numbers for the omicron variant are on the rise, and people–even those who are vaccinated and boosted–are falling ill. For this reason, I have decided to suspend in-person worship while the Bay Area endures the arrival and spread of this variant. Having consulted with parish leadership, colleagues, and medical professionals, I feel that it is in the best interest of our community to do this. And so, in the interest of your health and safety, we are making the difficult decision to move services back online until the first week of February. Starting Sunday, January 16, services will stream as follows: —7:30 am via Zoom —9:30 am: online via Facebook & YouTube —11:00 am: Joyful Noise via Zoom As a convenient reminder, your Saturday email Access Guide always includes all relevant links. If you don’t receive this email and would like to, please email [email protected]. The church office is closed, and all church meetings will be online. The office is closed, but we will be working from home, checking email and voicemail, so please reach out if you have questions or need assistance. All in-person meetings and classes are online. If you need a Zoom account, please call the office at (925) 934-2324. By all accounts, omicron doesn’t appear that it will have a long shelf life, and we may not have to remain online too long. We will do a reevaluation in the first week of February. If all goes well, we hope to resume in-person services on February 6, including our 9:30 am intergenerational service celebrating Candlemas. Until then, please stay safe! Thank you for your patience and understanding. Wishing you a blessed Feast of the Epiphany, The Rev. Krista Fregoso |
