One of the greatest gifts you can give is your time. ~Unknown
St. Paul’s serves our community in a number of ways. These range from our many outreach ministries to parish participation, with roles that include serving on the vestry, tending to pastoral needs, liturgical participants, campus maintenance, and more.
But we can only do it with your help! We have a number of opportunities that could use your talents, including:
Bylaws Revision Committee
The Vestry has formed the Bylaws Revision Committee to examine St. Paul’s bylaws and propose revisions. We will review St. Paul’s bylaws and determine what needs to be revised and/or refreshed in order to account for changes in the law and provide more flexibility in the governing structure of the parish. We will also review changes to our campus with the opening of St. Paul’s Commons. To learn more, email [email protected].
Scheduler
We are looking for two people to be the master schedulers for ministers of worship. Each person would be responsible for half a year.
Note: due to rising COVID numbers, Coffee Hour is on hold effective August 22, 2021, but when we resume, we’ll need your help as a Coffee Hour Hero!
In order to keep this ministry going strong, we are looking for volunteers to host coffee hour one week a month. It takes just five minutes before and after worship, and a brief clean-up time, to make sure coffee hour runs smoothly. The total commitment is 30 minutes. This time-honored tradition can’t continue without your support! Can you help? Contact Jessica Beerbaum at [email protected] .
Altar Guild
This hands-on ministry cares for the altar, vestments, sacred vessels and linens of the church. Altar Guild members work behind the scenes to prepare for and clean up after services including the Eucharist, baptisms, funerals, and weddings. St. Paul’s Altar Guild is led by Susan Burpee. To learn more, email [email protected].
Calling All Green Thumbs
If you enjoy occasional gardening, learn how you can help keep our campus garden beautiful. And even better yet, you get to choose the days and times! For details, email Ned or Elizabeth Soares at [email protected] .
Stewardship
One definition of stewardship is What I do, with all that I have, after I say, ‘I believe.’ The purpose of the Stewardship Team is to educate the congregation in the Biblical principles of whole life stewardship that reflects time, treasure, and talent. Stewardship is designed to promote a culture of abundance and gracious giving. It acknowledges the generosity of St. Paul’s members and of those outside the St. Paul’s community. Our team works with the Rector and is responsible for creating and conducting the annual pledge drive occurring in the fall. To learn more, email [email protected]
Liturgical Roles
—Ushers play an important leadership role, welcoming congregants at the door to the church, passing out bulletins, collecting the offering, and bringing the gifts to the Altar.
—Acolytes assist the Celebrant and perform ceremonial duties such as lighting the altar candles.
—Readers (or Lectors) read the scripture lessons during the Sunday worship.
